Mergingold monumental optical glass sculpture by Michael Bokrosh

Mergingold

The first piece in the Monumental Glass Series was a shot in the dark fantasy that master glass cold worker Michael Bokrosh was able to bring to fruition after one and a half years of trials and success! Titled Mergingold; this single piece of massive, optical glass features well over 100 variously sized, intricately placed, and highly polished facets.

A Cerium tint gives the transparent optical glass a beautiful, deep gold color. Viewing this sculpture in either artificial or natural sunlight reveals a multitude of facets reflecting throughout the interior and exterior of the piece. This brings forth a mesmerizing, delightful, and ever-changing artistic viewing experience.

When Mergingold is bathed in natural sunlight the glass comes alive with the full range of colors of the visual spectrum within the sculpture and a dazzling array of reflections throughout the room where it is installed. This breathtaking glass sculpture is set on a basalt stone base with six inset roller bearings underneath to facilitate repositioning.
